Pushed Too Far

She was a victim of cyber bullying. People hated her at school but they also hated her on the internet. She joined a site that she thought none of her schoolmates knew about. And began to chat with people her own age who she had never met.

They seemed so nice and genuine. She finally felt loved as they really seemed to care about her. A boy she was talking to began to flirt with her. And a few girls were so friendly she was amazed. She began to feel like a human being again after she was made to feel like an animal at school.

She told her new friends everything. Things she loved. Things she hated. People she loved. People she hated. She told them she cut her legs when the nasty people made her upset and hurt her. She told them things about her past. About her parents. About everything.

She told her new friends her woes at school. She confided in the boy that everyone hated her. He was so nice and told her he would look after her. He asked for the name of people and the web site they were on. She gave the information willingly. She had full trust in her new friends. They would help her. And so she began to smile for the first time in a long time.

Finally she felt happy for the first time in a long time. She had people to confide in. Her grades began to improve as she realised how stupid she had been to listen to these idiots. She began to feel normal and each day after school she would run to the computer to talk to her proper friends

One day at school she was sitting by herself minding her own business when a boy who hated her came over to her and sat down, grinning stupidly. He began to talk to her. He told her things about herself that were private. Things she had only told her internet friends. As he spoke and rattled off all the people she hated and the reasons, then asked her if she had cut her legs recently, she gasped and her heart sank.

Her new cyber friends were the kids from school. Pretending to be someone else. She thought she was talking to people she had never met. But it was a set up. For it was so easy to hide behind a screen and pretend to be someone else. How gullible and stupid she had been.

She ran from the school grounds as the boys friends began to yell out "Cutter!!!" and other hurtful words. Ran home to the computer. And she saw messages there. Horrible messages!! From the people she had told everything to. Telling her they were from her school and how they had done this as a joke and it had worked. And how it was all lies and they did not care about her at all. And were going to make her life at school even worse.

She closed her eyes as the tears streamed down her face. She had had enough. Life would be totally unbearable now they knew all her secrets. Calling her cutter. Well she would show them! She ran and got the sharpest knife she could find. Sliding the blade across her wrist she hit a tendon. Blood spurted out. So much blood. But she lay on her bed. Not bothering to even leave a note for her parents. As she breathed her last breath she thought to herself. Now maybe she could meet some new friends. Up in Heaven. copyright gothgirl 2008
