Over The Edge

She had thought about suicide. She tried to hang herself once but it didnt work. She was too scared to cut her wrists. She was scared that if she failed he would find out and punish her more. So she lived in a silent,secret hell. One night he came home drunk. She was already in bed. Waiting. Something had happened that day. A bully said she was lucky to have her father as a friend as no one else was. And some thing inside her had snapped and she had spat at the boy. As he lay beside her she held her breath. He began to touch her legs. She slowly pulled the knife out from under her pillow. Stabbed him in the chest. He yelled and released his grip on her. She stabbed him again and again. Screaming and laughing at the same time.

She had lived with her father since she was six. She was now 13. Living with him was hell. He beat her. Drugged her. Starved her. Raped her. She could not tell anyone because he said he would torture her if she did and she would regret even opening her mouth. So she kept quiet. She had thought about running away but had nowhere to go. Had no friends. Her father made sure of that. No phone. No computer. No contact with outside world other than school.

"You bastard! Try and hurt me now!" she yelled. She picked up an axe she had hidden under her bed. Cut him into pieces. Wrapped him up in plastic bags and threw them in the rubbish bin. The police found her the next day. Sitting in the corner of the kitchen. Rocking back and forth. Blade still in hand, smiling. "I won" she said with a grin of madness on her bloody face.
