This was a peice of writing done my by husbands mother a year before she died at the age of 53 from emphesema. She was also an alcoholic..but I wanted to hare this with you all as I feel this is a great peice of writing for all ages to read:) Please take your time reading it and let it absorb ok as it is very deep..hope u all enjoy:) there is only one more part after this which i shall post the tomorrow:)
As we grow we need support and reassurance- our first day at school we want to stand alone; but need to know we have not been abandoned. We wish with a passion- not yet fully understood- to be accepted by our peers, to be praised by parents and teachers alike- to succeed in work and play.We begin to envy our classmates and we secretly begin the wishing games of the young. We begn to hold people and objects in awe,and our one cry seems to be "When I grow up" and "If only." As we ener the uncertain and awkward teens, our passions multiply ten fold. We desire with intensity our first love, the need to be perfect in the eyes of others, to look perfect to act perfectly is our goal. We look to faous people to be our idols.
From the very moment of birth we are filled with pasion: the first breath creates an overwhelming desire for more air and a passionate desire to live. Our first suckle at the breast succeeds in festering a passion for food. We are comforted and immediateley we desire this warmth, without realising it the pattern is set for a lifetime of searching and desiring. Our first steps are in fact a dream to be independent- our first word a need to be heard. Our first tears are a cry for help and our first laugh an expression of joy and wonder.
Gradually we grow out of or weed out the impossible or improbable and suddenly just a few passions such as music, poetry or maybe a sport remain with us, much loved for the rest of our lives. The dream of vast riches diminish to a more realistic view of life. We strive to do more and achieve more and we do this at a frantic pace, sometimes at the expense of health and well being. We are, it seems, our ow worst enemy. In our quest for material gain we dismiss so much of value and overlook the beauty around us. written by E.J.Kringle
We dream of being excellent in a variety of ways, one moment a brilliant musician, the next a movie star or maybe a sports star, but always a desire to be admired by others.
