Gone

She dialed his cell number again. No answer. She tried his home phone again. No answer. Where was he? She had last seen him two days ago. Everything had been normal. He had told her he loved her. And told her he would be with her forever. Forever Yours he always said. So where was he?? He would call her everyday!

At first she was angry. Thinking he was probably out partying with his friends. Not caring if she sat waiting in anguish and wondering. Then she began to worry. She hoped he had not been in an accident. She sat on the phone pressing redial. The tears streaming down her face with frustration.

She decided to phone his best friend. No answer. Panic set in. She tried another of his friends. They told her that him and a few friends had gone camping for the night. She was shocked and angry. Why hadnt he told her? Why hadnt he invited her? Her heart dropped and she sobbed uncontrollably. He had lied to her. And was probably with another girl.

She was heart broken and angry. She tore up all the love letters he had given her. She threw all he had given her as presents and burnt them. Swearing and cursing him to hell. Cursing him for the pain she felt in her heart. The next day she recieved a call from his parents. Saying he had gone camping and was going to surprise her with things he collected from the forest to make her a special surprise gift. But he had been messing about in the lake. Jumped in too deep . Hit his head. Drowned.

She dropped the phone. Could not breathe. He was gone. And so was every single thing he had given her. She had nothing now. Nothing. How could she have doubted him? The guilt she felt was too much. She knew where the lake was. She went there and felt his presence. And then she joined him.
